The objective of online blackjack is to beat the dealer without your card total going over 21. Going over 21 is called busting and means that you lose that round. If your total stays below 21 you have a shot at beating the dealer. But the dealer must either have card total less than yours or bust himself.

The game begins with you placing your bet buy clicking on the appropriate betting options. Once you have placed your bet, click the “Deal” button. Two cards will come sliding onto the screen face up; these are your cards. Two more cards, one face up and one face down, will be dealt to the dealer. If the two cards you have total 21 by themselves you have been dealt a natural blackjack, and you win the maximum payout, usually 3:2. The only time a natural blackjack does not win is when the dealer also has a natural blackjack. In that case there is what is called a push, and your bet is returned to you.  Once your hand has been played and the dealer’s hand has been played the round is over. If you wish to play again, start over with making another bet.

There are some terms that you will want to be familiar with when learning how to play online blackjack:

Stand: Standing means that you do not want anymore cards dealt to you. All you have to do is click the “Stand” button, and your card total will stand against whatever the dealer winds up with.

Hit: To hit is to be dealt more cards in hopes of raising your card total, but you will want to be careful that you do not go over 21. To hit all that is necessary to click on the “Hit” button until you have a card total that you feel is high enough to beat the dealer.

Usually the next few options are available in most online blackjack games.

Split: If you are dealt two cards with the same face value each they are a pair. And if the option is available you can split them into two separate hands. If splitting is available a “Split” button appears and you can click it if you wish to split your pair; when splitting, another bet equivalent to your original bet will be made.  You will be allowed to play each hand out just like you would if you only had one hand.

Double Down: This means to double your original bet; should you win that round you would win a 3:2 payout based on the combined bet. But when doubling down, you only receive one more card and then you have to stand.

Insurance: This option is only available if the dealer’s up card is an ace. Because an ace is necessary to have a blackjack, the online casino will offer you insurance. The purpose of insurance is that you will not lose your bet if the dealer does have blackjack.

An advantage to knowing how to play blackjack online is that you alone are playing against the dealer so there are no distractions on the casino’s side of the game. And you have as long as you would like to play out your hand. You can also have a basic strategy chart pulled up in another window that you can use to play with. The gambling laws in Australia have been under speculation for quite some times now. It is not illegal to gambling online, although many argue that this may need to be rectified due to increased gambling habits. This article that I read at: http://www.abc.net.au/am/content/2012/s3410110.htm disects the online ganbling issues in Australia.

In a recent survey administered by Southern Cross University’s Centre for Gambling Education and Research they have found that out of 6,500 online gamblers, half started playing in the past six years. A lead researcher in the study, Sally Gainsbury, says that Australians are taking up online gambling much faster than any other form of gambling. Australians are spending around $600 million on gambling annually.

Because internet gambling is so easily accessible it has been targeted as the cause for increased gambling, as well as increased problem gambling. In fact, half of the internet problem gamblers interviewed said that their sleep is being disrupted, one third reported disrupted eating.

The government has been pressured by many researchers to implement certain guidelines and regulations to keep online gambling under control. One idea that has been thrown out there is the usage of pop-up messages that alert the gambler. So when you are playing at an online blackjack site or onlinebingoformoney.com, a message will pop up that will tell you how long you have been playing, and how much you have spent.

Although online gambling makes it easier for a gambler to place bets, and possibly goes overboard, it is also easier to track this play and analyse it. Tracking gambling, and monitoring it at a brick and mortar casino, is virtually impossible.

Bovada Casino Review

One of my favorite places to play blackjack online is Bovada Casino, formerly known as Casino Bodog. There are so many reasons that this casino is one of my favorites, allow me to review a couple of them now.

First there is no reason to shy away from this casino because of a name change. The operators promise that is still the same great experience and login information will all be transferred over seamlessly.

Bovada has always offered great promotions, and it’s not stopping anytime soon. Along with the large variety of 120 different casino games, there is also great customer service to guide you along in your gambling. There is a live chat available 24/7 that can provide you with all the answers to your questions.

Bovada is trying to create a brand “not unlike the Virgin brand venture” and they are doing a very good job of it. Just this past year they have ventures into the coffee market, and have been very successful thus far.

Your first chip purchase at Casino Bodog is matched up to $500 and there are specials running all week. When I’m not playing blackjack I’m playing slots, and Bovada loves their slot players.

Casino Bovada is ranked 13th worldwide in overall online casino traffic and that number seems to be getting better with every aspect they improve within their company. If you are looking to have a great time playing online casino games then Bovada is a sure bet, go play!

When you are picking an online casino to play at there are many things to consider before making your first deposit.

The most important thing when picking out your site is if it is registered. Once you know that the casino is registered then look for what software the casino uses. I follow a simple rule that if the casino doesn’t use PlayTech, Microgamming, or RealTime Gaming I keep moving.

PlayTech is by far my favorite though. The company started in the UK in 1999 and has continued to be one of the top software providers in the industry. All of their software is equipped with RNG (Random Number Generation). This vital part of the software ensures that the numbers are drawn completely at random and the games are fair. The TST (Technical System Testing) audits these casinos regularly to make sure RNG is working the way it is supposed to. PlayTech also has a certificate of Prior Approval from the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC).

If you are playing a blackjack game that uses PlayTech software you are playing one of the most innovative casino games. They are responsible for developing layouts for such games as video poker, sports betting, scratch games, online bingo, fixed-odds arcade games, and lie-dealer games.

My favorite PlayTech casino is Casino Titan. It is so much fun to play at. Visually stimulating, as well as easy to maneuver around the site are two things that keep me coming back to an online casino, and Titan has both aspects.

Trump Casino To Go Virtual

The latest news in online gambling is that many top casinos in the US are finally pushing for online gambling to be regulated. In the past these casinos have seen online casinos as a threat, but now they are devising plans to get their cut of the business.

For the past several years Atlantic City has continually seen a decrease in revenue. Trump Casino’s Donald Trump has decided it is time to do something about the decrease in casino gamblers by hopefully making an increase in online casino gamblers.

In an article I read on: http://www.Bing.com/news Trump talks about his partnership in an online casino venture. He is planning on expanding the Trump Brand to online gambling where he feels that the US is missing out on a lot of revenue that is being spent overseas through wagers.

Trump has “determined that such a joint venture represents the most advantageous for the company to participate in opportunities in online gaming at minimal cost to the company.”

The problem is many legislators are not seeing this issue from the point of view Trump inhabits. Governors such as New Jersey’s Chris Christie feel that putting a government “Stamp of approval” on online wagering will eventually lead to the demoralization of society as we know it.

There are many advocates for regulating online gambling. It may even be the only industry out there that is actually vying for government interference. So what is the problem? Officials don’t feel any real urge to make a decision. They are busy dealing with the economy, healthcare and unemployment to vote on the two bills trying to be passed through legislation.

So for right now the only thing to do is wait.

There is so much controversy surrounding online gambling these days, and so many supporters looking for a change. Americans want to make sure they get that change. What they are asking for is very specific and seems to be quite reasonable: “A strictly regulated, safe industry here in the United States. Parents must be assured their children cannot gamble online. American consumers must be protected.”

There is a petition, produced by the people, circulating to get our rights heard. Existing laws on online gambling are simply not working. Maybe because there are no actual federal laws prohibiting online gambling, just some states have their own laws. It comes down to the government not having the proper tools to shut down any gambling site that may be operating illegally. The US online gambling atmosphere has at times even been compared to the “wild west” meaning there is no regulation so there is nothing to prevent minors from gambling, along with no consumer protection.

This petition is a step in the right direction, but there is still a long way to go. It seems as if the regulation of online gambling in the US is so close, yet so far away. Many prominent casinos in the US are also trying to help out the cause. Donald Trump, of Trump Casinos is very vocal about the issue, and has already started working with affiliates and forming partnerships for when the US eventually passes the legislation through the House.

But even though everything seems to be moving in the right direction there are plenty of government officials who do not want online gambling moderated anytime soon. One such supporter is New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. He personally feels that by putting a “government stamp of approval” on online wagering, it will lead to gambling parlors popping up everywhere.

So for the time being we will just have to place our bets at a euro casino online.

I love playing blackjack on my computer, but to be honest I never tried playing on my phone. So I did some research to find the best blackjack applications for your phone.

Everyone has apps on their phones. Well anyone who has a Smartphone, which is pretty much everyone these days it seems like. They have become a part of our everyday life. We “check in” where we go. We “like” someone’s picture, or we use an app to change that exact picture into a picture we will actually like. The point is if I’m using all of these apps in every other aspect of my life, why am I not using one to do my favorite pastime: Play casino games.

More specifically play blackjack, although I do fancy some free slot games, I mostly stick to my main love: blackjack.

So I started out on my hunt and found a couple of interesting things. Blackjack Multi-Hand is by far the best. It allows you to play 3 hands at once. It also has a built in tutor and offers many tips. It also is an app you have to pay for, which many people don’t like doing. They can spend $.99 on a cheeseburger, but they can’t spend it on a game they can enjoy every day. Oh well.

Ok so if you don’t want to pay the best options are Blackjack88 and Blackjack Classic.

For more tips, or overall blackjack strategy I always trust wiki, just in case you need to sharpen up on your skills before you’re dealt your hand.

No one ever wants to surrender, but sometimes it is imperative when trying not to lose too much money. Surrender is possibly the most important aspect to talk about because it is the first choice you must make when playing your hand in blackjack. You must be careful though, because many blackjack games, such as one deck blackjack don’t offer the surrender option. If the blackjack game you are playing does offer surrender, it comes in two forms: either early or late.

You may only surrender after two cards, and before you have done any other action, such as splitting, doubling down, or drawing a third card.

When you surrender, you are folding at the expense of half of your bet. An early surrender is rarely offered because it allows for the player to have a quite large advantage over the house. The player can choose to surrender before the dealer checks their cards. In late surrender, the player can only surrender if the dealer does not have blackjack, after he has checked his card.

Surrender is a great tool for a player that is why it isn’t offered at a lot of casinos; if a casino does offer it, make sure you check all of the rules because there might be tricky details embedded to up the advantage of the house.

Knowing when to surrender is basic blackjack strategy, and it shouldn’t be done too often. To lose less with surrender the player must only be 25% likely to win. So, if you lose 75% of the time, and win 25% of the time, you net loss is 50% equal to the amount you are guaranteed to lose by surrendering.

Everyone wants to tell you what to do while playing blackjack, I’m going to tell you what not to do, four things specifically.

First, never underestimate the power of playing simply. Sometimes advanced techniques can get too complicated to remember and abide by. Simply going with gut instinct, and getting back to the basics can prove very lucrative.

Second, you, along with the rest of the players, are playing against the dealer. The dealer is not an expert player; do not model your playing after him or her. They are only making moves based on what the casino or the random number generator tells them to.

Third, don’t abuse the insurance option. Insurance is mostly only beneficial when you are counting cards, and know when the dealer is going to achieve blackjack. When the dealer has an ace in hand, the chances of them having a paint card as their whole car and getting blackjack rise substantially. The odds in blackjack (4:13) are good for everyone playing, so insurance can be very beneficial, but don’t use it too often, your odds are just as good as the dealer’s.

Fourth, don’t forget about the surrender option. It is easy to forget it exists sometimes, but it can help you and your wallet out. Some times when to surrender are: if you have a nine or ten and your cards total fifteen or sixteen, and the dealer has a nine or ten. Players are quick to surrender when they are sitting on a hard twelve or thirteen; this move is basically giving the casino your money.

And possibly the best thing not to do is play a non-reputable establishment. There are many websites that will give you US and UK casino reviews, so utilize what’s out there.

Most everyone knows the basics of blackjack when they embark on their first game, but did you know there are plenty of easy ways to improve your game and strategy? One way, probably my favorite is YouTube.

There are over 3,000 videos on YouTube.com that will guide you on your blackjack learning quest. YouTube is a valuable tool when it comes to many things, such as; learning an instrument, watching fuzzy animals doing cute things, and even getting a recipe or culinary trick from professional chefs.

The best thing about YouTube is it is completely free.  If you are asked to buy a subscription, or pay for a video, you are watching the wrong clips. There are promotional videos out there that want you to buy blackjack strategy software, this is not necessary. There are plenty of free videos that can provide you with all of the information you need to know, whether it is learning different varieties of blackjack to play, or mastering a certain skill, such as card counting.

Some of my favorites are BeatingBlackjack and TheCasinoGuru.  They are just a couple of regular guys who are very passionate about the game of blackjack.

When searching how various blackjack strategies, be sure to include the words: “How to.” This will narrow your search, and only give you tutorial videos. Just typing in blackjack gives you anything from clips of movies to music videos from the 80s.

Whether you are practicing for your trip to Vegas, or just getting some quick pointers in between games when playing at a Top Online Casino, YouTube videos are a great tool.

Some casino games translate to playing online very well, such as slots, or video poker. Many argue that blackjack isn’t one of these games, but I beg to differ.

It all depends on your level of play. Many expert players claim they can pick up on dealer’s ‘tells’, and actually sitting at a blackjack table in an actual casino is the only way to play. Then you have the expert player who just wants to play blackjack, and doesn’t really believe in dealer ‘tells’ and can play blackjack anywhere. After that we have the novice player, who doesn’t know the difference between playing at Caesar’s Palace or http://www.onlineblackjack.co.uk/.

I personally don’t mind as long as I’m paying attention, it all seems to be the same to me. Especially these days with so many new games coming out that have options to play with multiple players, and virtual dealers, it’s almost the same.

There are a few things to keep in mind no matter where you are playing. Always pay attention to everyone’s hand. This will give you a clue as to what the dealer’s hole card might be; after all you are only ever playing against the dealer, not any of the other players.

There are also different versions of blackjack you can play online that only use one or two decks, which really ups the players advantage.

I find myself in between the spectrum of experts and novice, it seems like I learn something new every day, and I will continue to learn about this strategic game. So are there a lot of difference between playing blackjack online versus playing in an actual casino? That’s for you, the player, to decide.
