The gambling laws in Australia have been under speculation for quite some times now. It is not illegal to gambling online, although many argue that this may need to be rectified due to increased gambling habits. This article that I read at: http://www.abc.net.au/am/content/2012/s3410110.htm disects the online ganbling issues in Australia.

In a recent survey administered by Southern Cross University’s Centre for Gambling Education and Research they have found that out of 6,500 online gamblers, half started playing in the past six years. A lead researcher in the study, Sally Gainsbury, says that Australians are taking up online gambling much faster than any other form of gambling. Australians are spending around $600 million on gambling annually.

Because internet gambling is so easily accessible it has been targeted as the cause for increased gambling, as well as increased problem gambling. In fact, half of the internet problem gamblers interviewed said that their sleep is being disrupted, one third reported disrupted eating.

The government has been pressured by many researchers to implement certain guidelines and regulations to keep online gambling under control. One idea that has been thrown out there is the usage of pop-up messages that alert the gambler. So when you are playing at an online blackjack site or onlinebingoformoney.com, a message will pop up that will tell you how long you have been playing, and how much you have spent.

Although online gambling makes it easier for a gambler to place bets, and possibly goes overboard, it is also easier to track this play and analyse it. Tracking gambling, and monitoring it at a brick and mortar casino, is virtually impossible.

One of my favorite places to play blackjack online is Bovada Casino, formerly known as Casino Bodog. There are so many reasons that this casino is one of my favorites, allow me to review a couple of them now.

First there is no reason to shy away from this casino because of a name change. The operators promise that is still the same great experience and login information will all be transferred over seamlessly.

Bovada has always offered great promotions, and it’s not stopping anytime soon. Along with the large variety of 120 different casino games, there is also great customer service to guide you along in your gambling. There is a live chat available 24/7 that can provide you with all the answers to your questions.

Bovada is trying to create a brand “not unlike the Virgin brand venture” and they are doing a very good job of it. Just this past year they have ventures into the coffee market, and have been very successful thus far.

Your first chip purchase at Casino Bodog is matched up to $500 and there are specials running all week. When I’m not playing blackjack I’m playing slots, and Bovada loves their slot players.

Casino Bovada is ranked 13th worldwide in overall online casino traffic and that number seems to be getting better with every aspect they improve within their company. If you are looking to have a great time playing online casino games then Bovada is a sure bet, go play!

The only place to play blackjack online is in an online casino. There are many online casinos out there, but you do not want to invest your money in just any online casino. You want to find the best place to play online blackjack and that takes a bit of time and some research. But knowing you are playing at the best place for you is well worth the time and research.

Thankfully researching online casinos to play online blackjack at is not nearly as painful as some might think. In fact it is very easy. Those looking for a reputable place to play blackjack online can find out about the Best Online Casinos at sites who review online casinos. Such sites will compile reviews about each online casino’s licensing and regulation, games and software, bonuses, their customer support staffs and their deposit and withdrawal methods. Such information is very important to know before depositing any money.

Everyone’s needs for an online casino vary. Some only want to play at online casinos that are powered by certain software providers. Others are looking for specific deposit and withdrawal methods. Some want to play somewhere that is going to give them a strong players reward club or VIP club.

To get more specific about online blackjack, not every online casino offers every variation of blackjack. If there is a particular type of blackjack that you want to play it would pay off to make sure any online casino you are considering offers that specific game.

Having the best online casino to play at for you is likely to be different from another person. So use an authoritative review site like Online Casino Suite, and make sure that you are investing your online blackjack money in the best possible online casino for your needs.

There is a popular idea about online blackjack that says a player’s chances of winning each hand changes every time. This would be not true.

The odds of winning a hand of online blackjack are the same no matter what. There will always be about a 44% chance of winning a hand and about a 48% chance of losing a hand. The remaining 8% is for pushes.

Most players who hold to the idea that the odds change for every hand like to site how cards are removed from play, and that effects the remaining cards that you could potentially be dealt. This might be true a tiny bit—there are small variations—when playing blackjack in a land casino, but it does not apply when playing online blackjack.

In online blackjack the cards are dealt based on what the RNG pulls randomly. The RNG pulls from all possible outcomes. I will explain this with an example:

Let’s say that you are playing online blackjack with only a single deck, and you were just dealt a Queen and an 8. When the round and the cards are “discarded” you might assume that there is now one less Queen and 8 that you could be dealt. But in online blackjack when the next round begins the RNG is pulling from all possible outcomes, meaning there are still four Queens and four 8’s that it could potentially deal you.

Because of the RNG and how it functions in a game of online blackjack, players are pretty much set with the 44% odds of winning a hand of online blackjack.

There is a common myth in blackjack that a player can win more by playing more than a single hand. This myth advises to play at least two hands or more because it hordes more cards to the player thus giving them more opportunity to win.

Notice that I said ‘myth.’ Many blackjack strategies for online blackjack and casino blackjack are not real; they do not work and often cost players more of their bankroll. Such is the case with the idea of playing more than one hand per round.

The way this myth works is for the online blackjack player or casino blackjack player to place at least two wagers to which the dealer will deal them two hands. At that point players play out the hands like they would any blackjack hand.

The problem with this blackjack myth is that it sets the player up to lose more money.

Let’s say that you are playing $25 per hand. Two hands means you are wagering $50 per round. If you lost three rounds in a row—which does happen—you would only have lost $75 playing one hand per round, but have lost $150 if playing at least two hands per round. If you came to the casino or only have $500 as your bankroll online, you would run through your bankroll quite quickly.

The reason playing more than one hand is not a wise decision is because the odds, even with basic strategy, the casino still has the edge over the player. As long as the house has the edge in blackjack, there is still an average loss for the player per wager. Making multiple wagers per round sets the player up to lose more.

There is nothing smart about putting more of your blackjack bankroll at risk when there are no odds behind the decision.

When players sit down at their computers and log in to play in an online casino, they want to win. Really that is not all that surprising. I mean, who wants to sit down and play a game with the intent to lose? No one. What does make sense is knowing which online casino game gives players the best shot at winning, and that is online blackjack.

Aside from having the best house edge, which is around 2% to 4% before strategy and 0.5% after using basic strategy, players have the best shot of winning each round out of all the online casinos games.

Now bear in mind that the house still has the edge, even if a player is playing perfect basic strategy, the house still has the edge. And since card counting is ineffective in online blackjack, there is no way to beat the house.

So keeping in mind that the house still has the edge even under the best circumstances, players can expect to win around 48% of the hands they play. And that leaves the house winning 52% of the hands you play. Those percentages are not taking into ties, but ties only happen 9% of the time. Removing them from consideration and you get the 48%-52% split.

All in all the odds for how often a player wins in online blackjack are not too shabby, especially when you compare it to games like online slots and online roulette; their house edges by comparison are awful. Online slots alone carry an average house edge of 14%. Now compare that to that pre-strategy 2% to 4%.

Is it really possible to find online blackjack for only 99 cents? Yes, it is. And the place to look is Go Casino.

Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday Go Casino hosts an online blackjack tournament series that they call their Blackjack Pot Percentage and the entry fee is only 99 cents. The 99 cents gives players $50 to play with. And for the skilled, $50 is a fari starting point. And if you are just getting started in online blackjack tournaments only staking 99 cents is not a huge investment; so if you lose the $50 tournament credits you are not an arm and a leg.

For the players, both skilled and novice, who want to continue even if the $50 in tournament credits is lost there are rebuys. Each rebuy is $2.49 and gives players another $125 in tournament credits.

Players are playing for the pot and the top 41 players will receive a portion of the pot.

Each 99 cent online blackjack tournament begins at 8 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8 pm, and each tournament runs through the next day, ending at 8 pm. In other words, these are each 24 hour online blackjack tournaments.

The benefit to playing in 99 cent online blackjack tournaments is that there is not a huge potential to lose an investment. It also allows players to be more open to the idea of spending money on a rebuy to continue playing when compared to other online blackjack tournaments in which players pay $10 as an entry fee—it makes them less willing to spend the money on a rebuy.

While March did not see the historic passing of a bill to regulate intrastate online gambling in New Jersey, it did see the first online casino to deal its one billionth hand of online blackjack: Bodog. To date no other online casino has dealt one billion hands of online blackjack.

Let this be a sign to federal lawmakers in Washington DC that online gambling is not going away. It is increasing and as such should be legalized and regulated not only so that the United States can generate revenue, but so the federal government can protect US citizens.

While the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) does not place a ban on US citizens to play online blackjack and other online casino games, it does place a ban on financial institutions based in the US from processing transactions to and from online casinos. And since the ban is not on players, US citizens have found ways around the UIGEA which means they are playing unprotected in online casinos run by foreign companies. Since the companies are not under US jurisdiction, there is nothing the US can do if there is a problem between an online casino and a US player.

While online poker is the most popular online casino game it is unsurprising that several online casinos have dealt more than one billion hands. But when Bodog dealt that one billionth hand of online blackjack, it should have been a sign to US lawmakers to reconsider their anti-online gambling stance. Forget the idea that online blackjack and other online casino games will go away. The conservative base needs to pull their head out of the sand and regulate online gambling.

How can you tell if an online casino is a safe place to play online blackjack?

This is a question you should be asking yourself when you embark on the quest to find a place to call home for online blackjack. Safety is a major concern for not only online blackjack players, but for online casino patrons overall.

One of the first things you need to look for is who the online casino is regulated by. The regulating body is the government organization in the country the online casino received its license from that the online casino answers to. While US players are not currently protected by their own government, they can find a bit of protection in the regulating body of an overseas online casino. Well, they can find someone to complain to, but since the US player is not a citizen of that country there is no guarantee that the regulating body will do anything.

So that is one thing to look for to ensure that there is some measure of safety and fairness when you play online blackjack. But there is another thing to look for, something better. And just because this something is better does not mean that you can disregard if an online casino is unregulated.

The strongest indicator of standard in the online casino industry is the eCOGRA’s ‘Fair and Safe’ seal. That seal means that the online casino in question has passed and continues to pass audits performed by this independent auditing body. When eCOGRA is considering an online casino for its seal, they check the casino’s dispute settlement for lack of bias, a strong customer support staff, timely and fair payouts, randomness in the offered casino games, including online blackjack and responsible gaming measures.
